Mirage I always knew 'someday' I would paint again. And so I began, again.
After changing my college major from Fine Art to Marketing, it wasn't long before I began a decades long career in marketing and advertising- with a few side trips along the way! - like attending the Interior Designers Institute (idi) in Newport Beach, CA, owning a design studio in Laguna Niguel, CA, Real Estate, and even a small jewelry design business in Southern CA. I have been fortunate to have had a professional career that has served me well.
Fast forward, and I am finally able to practice as an 'Artist'. Experimenting and playing with color in all it's forms, which has always been a passion of mine, is what this journey is all about. Color can make us feel happy or inspired, excited or relaxed. So when asked what do I paint, I say "I paint energy" and color is energy. Light is the only energy we can see and we see it in the form of color. So I try to let color tell the 'story'. Color, shape, symmetry, texture. Done right, it makes for good design. It's how we 'read' the room and interpret our world.
The paintings that I have been working on these past few years while preparing for my 'Act II' have been a source of great joy, fun and fulfillment. They have inspired Home Decor Collections and so many more possibilities that I couldn't have imagined when I was creating them. The creative process is a thrilling journey for me that I liken to sailing. That feeling of leaving port and losing oneself in the oneness of it all. Letting go and flowing into the experience.
